001. iAmHealing | Bear Fruit by Cleansing the Root | Gaby P. | 01.04.26

God is on mission to fulfill His purpose over you. He starts with your healing — spiritual, emotional, mental & physical. One thing after the other. No breaks. Continually healing you to be more like Him and to equip you to do what He calls you to.

S P ii R ii T U A L L Y

First and foremost, is spiritual healing. We receive God into our hearts, give Him our life, surrender it ALL. We are told that, “If anyone would come after Jesus, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Him.” — Luke 9:23. What does this entail? It entails becoming a disciple - a follower of Jesus.

To deny oneself is renouncing complete and total control of his or her life — dying to selfish ambitions, desires and prioritizing God’s will. To pick up our cross d a i l y means controlling fleshly thoughts. To follow Him is to follow His teachings errday. This is prone to suffering and persecution in Christ.

As I have learned in the past few years, is how God is soo intentional and purposeful about EV-ER-Y-THING. It was a Sunday service where my lead pastor mind-boggled me when he shared how we are spiritual beings in physical bodies ! Perhaps he shared it when I was in Bible College. Regardless, I was s h o o k e t h to be reminded and hear that again.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” — 2 Corinthians 4:16

This reminds me of the jars of clay in the same chapter verse 7, how we hold an incredible treasure, which is the light of the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. As much as our bodies age and decay, our spirits — our innermost parts — grow stronger in our faith.

He makes us a new creation in Christ, no longer living for ourselves, but for Him - to give Him ALL the glory in all that we do. We are new creations in Christ once we say “yes” and accept Jesus into our hearts, and prophecy the sinner’s prayer over ourselves. Spiritual healing, along with all healing, is progressive and everlasting. We are and will always be sinners, hence will always need God’s healing. We will never arrive to being perfect.

One of my favorite verses that is printed on my heart is John 15:16 - “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” Oh, to be pursued by our Creator🥹. The pursuit began with Jesus choosing and appointing us, not the other way around! He has always been there, waiting for us with wide, open arms. He assigns us to be eternal-minded by leading more to Him (bearing fruit that lasts). He is a good Father who loves to give good gifts and bless us in return.

How beautiful to be Called & Chosen by our very own Maker, handwoven in our mother’s womb, appointed as prophets to all the nations (Jeremiah 1:5). Us as the clay, and He as our Potter. You, my friend, are made in God’s image. In the image of God you were created to fulfill His purpose over your life. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is God’s purpose that prevails.” — Proverbs 19:21. I pray that your life be aligned with His perfect will in Jesus’ name, amen.

There is no doubt that God can heal us in an instant. It is the soul — mind, will, emotions — that He does His best work in. Therapy, for the emotional aspect, helped me overcome the people pleasing I didn’t know I was operating out of. There I was, thinking I was helping when in fact I was enabling. There I was, playing everyone’s she-ro, doing the most for & taking care of everyone, b u t myself — finding solutions for problems and fixing issues that were none of my biz. Getting to the root of these unhealthy boundaries and expectations became a priority to me because I am a priority to Him

I am not bound by what people who have hurt me, have said about me. One of those lies was that I was incompetent. Instead of believing and receiving that, I forgave. My worthiness is in Christ. He showed me to love and value myself as He predestined it. =>

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6-7

An amazinggg book, which played a key role with my emotional healing is called, The Emotional Healthy Woman by Geri Scazzero with Peter Scazzero — read it, if you have not already. ((: <33

I learned how to renew my mindset through mentorship and neuroplasticity.

“As a (wo)man thinketh, so is (s)he.” — Prov 23:17

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”           – Romans 12:2

I read books to guide me on reframing my thoughts and belief system. Scientifically proven, biblically-founded, Dr. Caroline Leaf’s “Switch on Your Brain”, was the one that lit it up for me — I highly encourage you to read, absorb and apply it. The greatest thing I took from it is how something could have ran in my mother and grandma, but refuse to accept that it is in me. Like the popular phrase goes, “It ran in my family until it ran through me.”

It astonished me how we have complete control of only 5% of our conscious thoughts. Now I know how to tear down toxic beliefs and build new, and healthy ones. This mindset is based on God’s Word and what He says about me, not my past failures or what others opinionate about me.

Paul the Apostle reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to “take our thoughts captive” aligning with Ephesians 6:12 — spiritual warfare. “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” In other translations, we cast down, tear down, demolish… this is not passive resistance. This is opposing anything to God’s Truth (( It is on like Donkey Kong! LOL)) !

Just as Jesus combated satan with the Word, believers are called to confront error with Truth. The Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit and our greatest weapon in the supernatural realm. Use It every time the enemy tries his old tactics, because he is the father of lies. We are also reminded to use discernment against false teachings and philosophies that do not align with the Word of God.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.” — Ephesians 6:12

Just because I appeared healthy, does not mean that I was. As athletic or fit as I seemed, over time, emotional/mental distraught took a toll on my physical wellbeing. All of the burdens I thought I was responsible on resolving, ended up negatively affecting my health — causing inflammation, hormonal issues, abnormal this and abnormal that. Praise God, hormonal imbalance is balancing by discovering underlying issues via a live blood analyst, who happens to be apart of my church aaand the women’s community I am in. *Shameless plug JoyfulFitLife*. =>

By His stripes we are healed, yes. As God heals you outwardly, He does His best work inwardly. *We cannot bear fruit without cleansing the root.* The root of un-forgiveness needs to be teared down. Everything gets better when you forgive. Our bodies are negatively impacted when we carry burdens, tension, trauma and un-forgiveness. Release, renounce all bitterness, resentment and un-forgiveness in your heart — every last ounce of it. Watch God take all the heaviness like the heavy-weight champion that He is only to leave you as light as a feather. (“

Forgive thyself, forgive those who hurt and offend you…forgive God. He doesn’t owe you nor i an apology. There is bitterness and resentment that may be in the heart and needs to be released. Sisss, take a d e e e e p breath. . .

L E T  G O O O O - && - LET GODDD.

Your healing is in your forgiveness. God forgives us and we forgive others. We don’t deserve it, yet He graciously does so because He loves us unconditionally. Forgive and you will be set free. Free of the bad memories, free of the loss, pain, guilt, shame, and sorrow. Your healing is in your forgiveness.

"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” — Psalm 103:12

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13

Reflection Time –

  1. Which area of healing — spiritual, emotional, mental, or physical — is God currently doing the most work in you, and are you surrendering to that process?
  2. Is there a burden, toxic belief, or unhealthy boundary you've been carrying that God is calling you to release today?
  3. Who or what do you need to forgive in order to step into the freedom and healing God has for you?

– Prayer

Father, thank You for being intentional about every layer of my healing. You don't do halfway work — You get all the way to the root. Search my heart and reveal what needs to be surrendered, renewed and released. Heal me spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. Help me to take every thought captive, set healthy boundaries, and walk in the identity You predestined for me. Where there is unforgiveness, soften my heart. Where there is fear, replace it with faith. I am Yours — chosen, appointed and loved. Do Your perfect work in me, Lord. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
